My name is Andrea Boettger, and I am honored to be your Senate Candidate for District 15.
A sense of community, a good quality of life, and fiscal responsibility with your taxpayer dollars are all very important to me.
As New Ulm City Council President, I represent the citizens of New Ulm in a non-partisan role focused on advancing economic development and maintaining and improving public safety and infrastructure. As an elected leader, I take seriously the importance of balancing the needs of the city with the budget available. These are issues that every community faces and are especially important to our rural communities.
In addition to my role on the council, I also serve as the Executive Director of New Ulm Turner Hall. Running a non-profit requires fiscal conservatism, ability to advocate for funding and support, and to draw awareness to the organization and its role within the community. If elected, I will expand these skills to best serve and advocate for the citizens of District 15.
I have been a resident of New Ulm for over fifteen years, but was born and raised in Lehigh Valley, PA. My early career was spent in hospitality, banking, and finance. It was in these fields that I gained expertise in how to best listen and provide meaningful service to others and effectively manage funds in both the short term and over the long term.
I currently serve on the board of directors for the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities where I co-chair the committee on Taxation and Local Government Aid, and as the Vice Chair for Region Nine Development Commission, where I chair the Legislative and Communications committee.
I am the mother of two children. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering, reading, lap swimming and attending Jackson and Jordan’s sporting events.
When elected as your Senator for District 15, I will listen to my constituents and support our district needs, being a strong voice for our business and farming communities in St. Paul.
